About Jimmy Matta Jr

Jimmy Matta Jr brings a wealth of experience and a diverse skill set to the table. He completed the Washington State four-year apprenticeship and training council through the Carpenters Union, graduating in 2019. During his apprenticeship, Jimmy earned his associate degree in Multi-Occupational Trades and pursued his Bachelor of Science in Business Management through night school. In March 2023, he accomplished his Master of Science in Business Administration.

Jimmy’s unwavering determination and dedication to his craft have propelled him to excel in the construction industry. Notably, he has estimated high-profile projects for prominent clients like El Gaucho Restaurant, DaVita, and Microsoft, contributing significantly to pivotal community landmarks through his expertise at Ahora Construction. Committed to giving back, Jimmy has actively served as an instructor for the Latino Civic Alliance. His teaching focused on blueprint reading and estimating, mentoring participants over five months. He also conducted an interactive course in partnership with OWMBE, guiding personnel within M/WBE firms through an Introduction to Blueprints and Estimating program. This intensive eight-session course provided hands-on experience in blueprint analysis, estimation preparation, and blueprint software understanding.

Outside of work, Jimmy remains deeply involved with his Local, holding the position of Vice President. Additionally, he serves as a City of Burien Planning Commissioner, lending his expertise and insights to city development initiatives. He also enjoys working out, spending time with his dog, and trying new food.
